The Grand Stade Hassan II, designed by Oualalou + Choi in collaboration with Populous, is set to become the largest football stadium in the world, with a staggering 115,000-seat capacity. Drawing inspiration from Morocco's traditional social gathering known as a 'moussem,' the stadium's structure is majestically enveloped under a grand tented roof, creating a striking contrast against the lush, forested landscape. This monumental stadium is not only a tribute to the architectural heritage of Morocco but also a future hub for global sports, fully compliant with FIFA standards and poised to host the FIFA World Cup 2030 final.
Beyond its sheer size, the stadium's design integrates modern engineering with ecological mindfulness. The unique aluminium lattice roof, supported by a ring of 32 stairways, forms monumental gateways that feature raised platforms with lush gardens, offering a unique spatial experience. This design seamlessly blends the stadium's functionality with its natural surroundings, creating an oasis of greenery under the translucent roof. The Grand Stade Hassan II is more than just a venue; it is a testament to Morocco's growing influence in the world of sports and architecture.
